Some dreams do come true....

Post by tmossman »

After searching for a 60's bass for about a year (a year filled with wild goose chases, con artists, rip-offs, unanswered emails). I stopped by POTR last week and made this commitment... :D

No pics yet. Hopefully next week.

Todd, is this one of the ones made for the Japanese order? Did it go there and back somehow, or was this a leftover that POR was able to obtain? The world wants to know!

This came straight from Santa Ana to NJ. To the best of my knowledge this was shipped to Chris a couple weeks ago (not listed in the recently shipped page btw) to his amazement. I believe he was told it was the one and only leftover from the 60 to Japan. Amazing finish and incredible neck. SO happy I am. :D

Oh yeah, thanks to all at Ric who made this incredible bass and especially the person who decided to ship it to your best dealer POTR.

You are telling me. I walked in on a dead Saturday (unplanned) to drop off some computer code. Chris said to go look in that case over there. I put the case up on the counter, opened it, and stood there completely stunned. The Fireglo was perfect, the shape perfect, the neck perfect, the action perfect (straight from RIC). I asked Chris for "the story". He said it just arrived one day with no warning. He had a conversation with Kenny about it and decided to pack it away. I asked him how much, he gave me a number, I said okay.

Congrats Todd. You have managed to find a rare bass and one that is prized by many and the mere fact that it is from the group made for the Japanese market makes it even more special.
