My Back Pages - The Byrds Collective

Post by pehayes2 »

Hey everyone, I thought this was the most appropriate place to place this topic (almost put it the Byrds forum).

The Byrds Collective have just released it's latest recording of The Byrds (Bob Dylan's) My Back Pages. The link is

http://byrdscollective.bandvista.com/rw ... sFinal.mp3 or you can go to http://www.thebyrdscollective.com (you can also hear other recordings made by us).

We are very proud of this effort. Rick Resource members Dave Michaels and Mark Miraglia deserve a lot of praise. Dave did all the mixing and over dubs of the guitars and background vocals (along with Ken Hearn), while Mark did a spot on Jim McGuinn vocal performance as well as adding signature Rickenbacker sound. Drums of course were provided by Stephen J Arti. Bass and keyboards was brought to you by Pat Hayes (RFF member).

Please enjoy the song and let us know what you think.

Very enjoyable take of this classic with the Byrds' sound really nailed down.... excellent McGuinn vocals and Ric 12 string there by Mark M ! Thanks for posting.

And best of all, those tasteful harmony vocals of the Byrds Collective will have listeners doing a double-take, :D and keep everyone guessing ---- is this the originals, or is it the Byrds Collective :?:

Nice to have you guys 8) sharing your talent here on the RRF ! For those of us taking notes, were Dave and Pat using any other Ric guitars and bass on this recording, too ?

I saw on the Byrds Collective newsletter that this new recording or theirs, My Back Pages, has gotten the authorizations and is going for commercial release with all the usual outlets..... Amazondotcom, etc. Let's wish them success. :)

Absolutely. And not to derail, but this could serve as a good model for releasing RRF CD3.
