Hello from a new guy
I'm new to this forum and just wanted to say hello. I don't own a Rickenbacker (yet) but I have a very serious case of G.A.S. for a 360/6.
I turn 50 soon, so I might treat myself. Seriously bummed about the marketplace restrictions for newcomers, so I'll be trying to get my post count up.
In the meantime, are there any particular issues that haunt this model when looking to buy used? Any great deals to be had new?
Thanks!

Hi David,
Welcome to the forum. I can almost guarantee that the 30 post rule will become very much appreciated by yourself, assuming your goal is to stick around and participate with those of us who have been here for the long haul.

I don't mind the rule and understand why. I've been a regular at Harmony Central Electric Guitars for years but only have a 1200 post count. I tend to lurk a little more than post I guess.
I thought the rule was 100 posts, 30 is much easier.
Cheers!

Welcome, David.
There are no haunts with a used 360/6, any more than there would be with many other used guitars. You just want to make sure there are no issues with the electronics, the neck, finish, etc. Rick's hold up fine through time, unless blatantly abused.

Welcome, David!
I bet you'll be able to find a great 2nd hand Rick to your liking on eBay or CL - for the rest I can only echo the advice given above!

Craig's list has been a bust lately.
This might be a common question, but what kind of prices are used 360/6's getting?

Re: Hello from a new guy
David, I'd say for a 360/6 made in the last 15 years or so you'd be generally looking at $1100-$1300 for any in the standard finishes. This wouldn't include Color of the Year finishes, or 360 WB's.

Thanks everybody!
If I buy used, is there a good way to check if it's stolen or not? Some sort of registry?
I've never bought a used guitar, or one this expensive, so I'm a little cautious.

The site has its own register (located upper right top of screen "Rickenbacker Register") - might not be complete, but it has a lot listed anyway. So, if you've got an s/n check it there.datru wrote: Some sort of registry?

David (Datru)
Since you live in the L.A. area ---- you might want to seriously consider attending the upcoming Mini Confluence Jam Session
on Saturday May 8th down at Backline Rehearsal Studios in Garden Grove.... off the 22 Freeway. You'll get to see/touch/smell and hear more Ricks first hand, than you could ever hope to find at any guitar dealership and you can get every question you ever imagined answered about this model compared to that model.
And you'll meet some great, local Forum members !!
Maybe you'll find someone who is selling one of their Rics..... must caution you that RAS is highly contagious at these events. Don't forget to RSVP by posting if you can attend.
Check out the thread in the Conferences and Confluences section -- and you can also check out the pictures posted from several prior Mini Con jams, on other/earlier threads in this section.
