lefy bass question

Post by Prowl »

ok so I was having a conversation with someone about Macca's ric and some other lefty players that play ricks and various other basses. In this conversation, the three way switch was brought up. I was curious if someone can confirm if this is true or not, but on Lefty 4000 series basses, is the switch reversed? Down being the neck pickup and up being the bridge?

In most photos I’ve seen of McCartney with his Rick the switch is down. His sound is obviously not bridge pickup only, so his switch must been reversed.
On my ’79 lefty the switch is normal with up neck / down bridge.

Normal on any and all lefty Rics I've played/owned.
