Don't forget "Yer Blues", "Long Long Long" and "Helter Skelter" (HS is John on a Jazz doubling on top of a Bass VI, also played by John)

Although I haven't listened to the White Album in quite a while, I would hazard a guess that George last used his Rick 12 string on "If I Needed Some One." There is an outtake of "And Your Bird Can Sing" where he played his Rick. But on the final version that was released he's playing his Epiphone Casino.

I'll have to see if I can track it down and post it. I noticed it when I heard an isolation taken from the multi tracks used in the rock band game. You could hear it pretty clearly, but you can also hear it on the record... its doubling the bass part during the "I don't know why nobody told you" part.

The guitar sounds of The Beatles remain a mystery. And, for me, the fun of experimenting with different amps, guitars, pedals and settings is the player's ears.

We can't know for sure what guitars John, George and Paul were using by 1966.

Actually we can...

The book: "Recording The Beatles" goes a long way towards solving many of these "mysteries". I would recommend anyone that's seriously interested in the Beatles and their recordings read this book, rather than propagate rumors or guesses.
