It was a great evening !!
Nice restaurant, good food and great entertainment !! :D

Small World Band, did a great opening set --- Vito was par-excellant on his guitar licks 8) and Tony is everybody's favorite.... a highly charismatic front-man ! Always at least one, if not two Rics on stage rocking on !

Hautewerk rounded out the evening with two fine sets. :D Their high-energy version of "Stop Start Again" (at end of 2nd set) knocked everybody's socks off and showcased Kenny's extensive song-writing talents (but we already knew that !) :D HW finished up with a sing-along of Happy Birthday at midnight ! Lot's of RRF-ers were there and the extended Rickenbacker community. Lot's of folks were dancing ... lots of fun and good cheer :D

I'll post some pics after I re-size them ..... Paul W. got some pics too and he has a better camera !

Thanks for sharing the pictures, Rich! I wish I could have made it, but this has been he** week at work (yes, I know ... as if that's unusual!) ... :(

John, how did you like your bass tone with those Bose speakers?

Looks like a great time! Thanks for posting a small glimpse for those of us who couldn't be there... :D
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Had a great time with everybody. Smallworld and Hautewerk simply ROCKED...

My wife stayed up in Marin, so my dance partner for part of the evening this time was Cindalee Hall... at least, that's what I think...it was kinda tribal up there. There were at least two local Laguna Beach freaks who thought they were at Woodstock, or perhaps at the Fillmore. We were cracking up...one guy, who looked at least 65, with a white pony tail, thin as a rail, get this...

...ran in place, double time, for nearly two hours straight. When he wasn't spinning like a dervish, that is. I think he could have been some sort of Sufi practitioner or something. In any event, I want to meet his cardiologist. I tried it for one song, along with some other members of the Tribe who were in their early 20s and quite athletic-looking, and we were all winded by song's end.

Another guy looked like a contestant in a David Lee Roth lookalike contest, except he was about 4' 9" tall. He took over most of the dance floor and was very involved in his chemically-induced satori. At one point, he reached up and grabbed Paul A. (who was quietly standing there in his Loud Scarf) in a police choke hold. Paul stayed very cool--not a hair out of place...

Grover was on the sound board, and did a terrific job, I sat with Diane and Joey, and met Rich Ferguson's sweet wife, whose name I promptly forgot (sorry Rich...). Arielle Hall videoed the whole thing in difficult conditions. Talked a lot with Deb and Dan Saifer...turns out they were in a band together some years ago.

Ahem. pictures...The ones from my camera didn't look too great this time. Lighting was very dim, and flash blew everything out. Couldn't really get it adjusted to suit the venue, but I'll post sometime in the next few days, as work today looks like it could be hectic.

Those two Dancers were completely bizarre

Jeff, John's bass tone and volume, too, were thick and clean and LOUD. I was pretty amazed when I checked out his amplification between sets!
