My new (old) bass

Post by bosco64 »

It's been awhile, but it was worth the wait:

Just a couple of pics of my 1996 4003S. Originally Mapleglo, I bought this at Bass NW in Feb. 2007 for a steal, and with the intentions of a refin. I've always wanted a Rick bass in a clear blue finish that was similar in hue to G&L's Clear Blue finish. It didn't hurt that this bass had some nice grain and a little flame as well. So I sent the bass to Paul W., and here is a sample of his amazing craftsmanship. He's going to do some small touch ups this weekend, and then he's gonna send it back to me early next week. Once I get it home and in my grubby little hands, I'll take some more pics. Paul, thank you so very much, you're the best!!! :D :D :D

What a great refin! (And I don't even like blue!) Congrats Ron and great job Paul! I really envy you folks with S basses...

Very nice. I'm a sucker for light colored see-through finishes.

Blue is one of my favorites, although as time goes by all of the colors are starting to be some favorites. ;)

Very nice indeed. I want another 4003S now.

Can I blame you when the Mrs bashes my teeth in for spending the mortgage money?

It's basically a trans Azureglo. Nice!! I normally don't even comment on finishes but this is just too nice.

+1 Brilliant refinish job on the perfect RIC (4003S).

Blue seems an appropriate color for unobtanium.
