Hello everyone,I'm new here but have been reading in the bass section for a few months and I gotta say this site is GREAT! I just bought a ric tr75 off the bay for $75. It was kind of an impulse but the guy was close so I can pick it up. He says it needs some work.I'm not sure if I gotta a good deal or not.I guess time will tell.I don't know anything about ric amps. Is the tr75 a "good" one ? Can I play my 4003 through it? Thanks

Hi Tracy, sorry it took so long to reply but I just picked the amp up this past week (way too many irons in the fire!) The amp is a combo. Channel 1 didn't work so I took the amp out of the cab and a little purple wire was disconnected so I hooked it up to the pin and it works. The only trouble now is there is a "white noise" than is constant and unchanged. It isn't real loud but enough to not want to play throgh it. Changing any of the knobs doesn't help. The amp sounds great and pretty loud too. If I can just lose the noise it would be a great amp.I'll try to put some pics up too. Thanks again!

I have this same exact amp. My dad bought it for me in 1981 when we came to the states. He had promised to get me a Rickenbacker guitar, but couldn't afford one, so the amp and a telecaster knock off is what I ended up with. The amp developed a bad screech, and was un-used for many years, till about 5 years ago, I took it to an amazing repair man in the Norwalk, CA area and he fixed it. The amp is used nowadays to work out bass lines for demos I record and it is a pretty decent practice amp. I would never part with it because I think it is quite rare.
I was going to post a pic of the TR75 and pedal steel that we saw, Jeff. My pics shows it as dusty but in very good condition otherwise. It sounded great! As I recall they were looking for around $450 for the TR75. I was tempted - even asked about shipping to Oz!
We won't talk about the 'Fakenbacker' we saw, eh?

Wow this is weird...I started this thread back in 04 and I sit down and sign in to the forum for what seems like eons and it's at the top of the list! I'm in Louisiana working a turnaround and my tr 75 just got fixed after sitting in the shop for six months. My wife and daughter picked it up for me(back home in Indiana) So it's finally ready to rock and I'm nine hundred miles away!WTF! And now I see my thread restarted! Weird huh? Maybe I should write a song.
