You know somtimes ya just gotta put the mask on and go...one of my favorite songs by Los Straitjackets..cool melody and how about that drummer...
Pacifica
Re: Pacifica
One of my favorites too, George. I don't know why we don't play it.
As great as Jason Smay is, their former drummer, Jimmy Lester is in a class or 2 or 3 (Dusty Watson being another). I called him a "metronome with a serious attitude"! I don't know anyone who wouldn't love to play with him.
As you know, Bass player Pete Curry is one of the best and most respected musicians of the Surf genre. I have seen him play guitar (lead and rhythm), bass, and drums live and have CD's with him doing the same. I understand that he played PIANO with Duane Eddy at the Geekfest.
Speaking of GREAT Surf drummers, Duff Paulsen is going to be the "house" drummer for the Surf set at the SoCal Mini-Com. I know I'm looking forward to playing with him.

FYI
Mark Neill, the Rockabilly Ric twanger (Rickabilly?) in the Josie Kreuser video under "Artists" produced the Los Straitjackets CD "Supersonic Guitars in 3D" and he tells me that his Rick guitar and bass are all over it.
