The Sonics

Post by peewee »

These guys ROCKED!! They've been called the prototype punk/grunge band and have influenced many other over the years including The Cramps, The Dead Boys and The White Stripes. "Strychnine" ranks as one of my favorite Garage rock songs of all time -- pure, primitive Rock -n- Roll!

"Have Love Will Travel" -- this epitomizes the genre, IMHO

"Shot Down" -- this number was covered by Nick Curran on his "Doctor Velvet" CD. Nick is a modern Blues monster and was also guitarist with The Fabulous Thunderbirds until just a couple of years ago.

The Sonics were everything garage! They were great! Gerry Roslie had an incredible scream ... perfect for their music!
