Just got a new 330 Fireglo...a few questions...

I Regretted selling my 1994 Ric 330 Fireglo a few years back so I just got myself a new one. The Fireglo colouring is a little harsher and lighter in colour than on the 1994 model but apart from that it's pretty much the same guitar.

I can't find it posted here when I search - does anyone have the default set-up specs for a RIC 330...? Especially the pickup height measurements..?

Welcome Gary. The factory specifications for the height of the strings from the fretboard is 3/64" for the treble side and 5/64" for the bass side at the 12th fret. Once you are in this ballpark I would raise the pickups as necessary to produce the sound you are seeking.

I suspect that you will be happy with a distance of about 1/8 inch between the top pickup and the strings.

This is just a guideline of course as individual preferences come into play along with some variation from instrument to instrument.

I have had a play and found the factory action a little low for my taste, especially as the Ric is such an easy guitar to play anyway, so I have raised it slightly and the pup height you recommend is spot on.

Sorry take away your spotlight Gary but I have a question too

One thing I noticed on my 370 is that the strings don't exactly align with the poles that stick out of the High-Gains, is it normal? and how can I fix it if not.

My new 360/6 is like that, too, Patrick. Was wondering the same. Particularly the high E string.

Pole alignment is not important. The poles merely set up a magnetic field for the ferrous strings to disturb.
I believe as long as the stings are in this field you are good to go.
The only way they wouldnt be, is if the strings are beyond the pickup, which would just be stupid, or if the pickup is too low...

Alright, it's mostly with my trebble pickup, the other two are fine...
I figured it didn't bother much since my guitar still works fine, hehe.
