McCartney and 5 string Rick
I was just at the Paul McCartney fans board and one topic was about his 1990 tour. Anyway, someone has some photos of Paul at Wembley, and there is a cool photo of him holding a JG 5 string Rick. Anyone know what model or anything about it? It is not a performance shot, looks like a photo taken backstage.

The 5 string Rick that he is holding in that picture is a 4003S/5. It almost looks like a Blackstar because the fingerboard is black, however the hardware is chrome.

I wonder if he got that one free also.
Can we have everything louder than everything else?

Re: McCartney and 5 string Rick
Cool bass! I'd also call it a Blackstar...one that probably got a hardware change at the factory before it left.
The microdots on the fretboard aren't visible, but they're probably there...just hidden behind the A string.

That's the case with mine ... the dots are hidden by the 'middle' string.rickaddict wrote:... The microdots on the fretboard aren't visible, but they're probably there...just hidden behind the A string.

So now that there is a photo of Sir Paul with one, I think the value of yours just doubled (at least) Gary!

Re: McCartney and 5 string Rick
Are these the only two Blackstar 5'ers we know of?
