Possible 360 pimping?

Post by faustus »

Hi fellas!

I want to make some changes to my 360/6 and wonder if:

* I can put a trapeze tailpiece on instead of the "R"
* add some kind of strap locks on, and
* switch to toaster pickups...

...without making any permanent modifications on the guitar?

In the past, new holes would have to be drilled for the trapeze. Winfield Vintage now sells a direct drop-in part: http://winfieldvintage.com/parts/trapeze.html

All new Ricks (sans V and C series) come equipped with Schaller strap buttons; all you need is the part that goes on the strap.

Toaster pickups are a direct replacement for Higains, and HB-1's. Just solder and enjoy!

I'm all for pimping them, as I've pimped mine too. Though my personal rule is that it should be reversible, and if not, should be considered something "typical" (can't think of a better word right now :oops: ) to any guitar, like a Bigsby. No adding Gibson stop tailpeices or humbuckers, etc. Again, just my personal rule.
Expect nothing and you'll never be disappointed (and I mean that in an optimistic way).

i totally agree. would never start drilling holes or put a Gibson humbucker in my ricks.

i guess you could say my goal is half estetic, half practical. toasters would change the sound a bit, strap-locks would keep me from dropping my guitar, and the trapeze tailpiece is mostly for the look of it.

One thing to take into consideration Jimmy is that Acoustically the tone can change when you change from the `R` to a trapeze.My 360/6 took on a more prominent sharper tone when i changed to the trapeze.
