Richie Castellano

Post by sloop_john_b »

Just had to share this fab collection of Ricks owned by my friend and co-worker Richie Castellano. Oh, and he also plays guitar for Blue Oyster Cult and is probably the best guitar player I've ever met. He usually favors his Music Man guitars on the road, but when he gets home...

Nice, John-----tell him it's okay to geek out with us about guitars. :)

Cool.
The bass player used a 4001 at some time too. I believe it's Albert Bouchard.

Yes he is! I joked with him that if he brought his 325 onstage with them it would mean immediate firing, but he told me Buck was a big Beatles fan and couldn't put it down last time he was up here.

I think Albert was the drummer, and Joe the bassist from 1970 and on for a while

Too cool, John! He has a great collection (I'm loving the yellow bass).

Yeah, did he have it refinished yellow or is that one of those yellows from the German yellows RIC made?

I'm betting it's a mid to late '70s 4001s that was white back in the day.

That one has been refinished and almost totally rebuilt. It was trashed before. To call it "anomalous" would be an understatement. I have lots of pics I took of it, I'll post for you guys tomorrow. Well worth a look.

IIRC, it has a '73 jackplate.
