Sad? I think it's quite funny... I just imagine some manager pushing that 2nd bass player onto stage for a few extra bucks: "just play, *** ******!"

It was Personality Crisis. Just search YouTube for "New York Dolls Midnight Special". To be fair to Arthur, has anyone successfully played his bass with a broken hand? Check the cast on his left hand.
