The seller must perceive that "Vintage" carries a big price tag ....
You wonder why some people spend the time and effort to design their e-bay Sales page for low value items.

What's wrong with a little ~ 1400% markup?!

Yeah, I've noticed that that outfit seems to have a knack for pricing around 300-400% of actual value on many of their (sad and/or rusty) used parts as well.

Worldwide seller!!!! You'd be surprised at distributor mark-up and/or sheer lack of stock for those of us outside North America..... For some poor offshore dude that might be a reasonable offer - or the only way thay can lay their hands on the part over the next six months!

That's Jim Pasch I think. 10 or 12 years ago I bought from him an "all original" 1960 Danelectro 6-string bass, which turned out to be a converted 4-string. It took me about two years to learn about "naked tuner holes" in converted Dano's and find out what it really was. By that time I couldn't send it back. I ended up selling it to an English collector (with full disclosure) and lost about $200 on the deal.

To be fair, that $2 switch tip from Rick will still cost you $20, considering you couldn't order it by itself...

Still, this is ridiculous.

That poor 1986 4003 has had every single piece of it put on ebay and every single piece of it has been way overpriced.

Every

Single

Piece

I'm surprised he hasn't tried selling the screws on the pickguard for $14.95 each.

A little story for everyone. I bought my 99v63 in 08. It arrived without that very same selector switch cover. I called Ric with the intension of buying one. The gentleman I spoke with informed me that a purchase of $20.00 was the minimum. I said," OK, I'll hang up, and see about coming with some more purchases". He waited for a second and then said," Give me your address, and I will just send you one". True to his word, he did so. I will not forget that. I guess when it comes to "Rickenbacker" I shouldn't have been suprised. Mark
