Finally! I got to open the box!

Post by datru »

Some of you know that my wife was making me wait until my birthday to open the gift she got me. Not that unusual except that I was the one who bought it!

This has been one of the longer months in history. I felt like a little kid at Christmas. Finally, I got to open it. WooHoo!

I'm digging that FireGlo as well -- not too dark at the edges, not too pale in the center! 8)

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

My wife wanted to get me something special for my birthday and she knew I wanted a Ric. I told her that it couldn't be a surprise because I would have to pick it out, make sure it was okay, etc. (we were buying used). So together we went and found one, about 5 weeks ago. Since she wanted to it to be as close to a surprise as possible, she made me promise not to even peek at it until my birthday - cruel woman!

Kidding of course, she's the best. This isn't even the first guitar she's bought me.

I did the zymol thing today and the guitar really shines now! New Ric strings too (also a gift). I keep debating whether to stare at it or play it.

"Play it" is winning. :D

Twice, in the first week, for the reason of "having something important to check out." After that, I decided to play by the rules.

Funny, I can't quite remember what the important things were.

Congrats! The missus should have made you bring it sealed in the box to the jam. she actually told me at the jam that you could have a one day reprieve and actually play it that day..... anyway, congrats. You get to start the next jam. Preferrably something difficult, say, with seven chords. How about "I Wanna Hold Your Hand"? :D

Congrats David !! It's a beauty.
Looks to be in very nice shape and a tasty FireGlo finish (you've probalby seen some of the threads here about various verbiage to describe FireGlo shades and the Clown-glo controversy, etc. )

It must have been sheer torture for you to come to the Mini Con and drool ... and then still she made you wait a few more weeks !!!

A verry Happy Birthday to you !! :D :D
