Roger Rossmeisl

Does anyone know how Roger Rossmeisl pronounced his name? Usually, in German "ei" would be pronounced as "eye" as in "mein" or "Reich", but is the "s" silent? Just wondering... :)

Pronounce the s with bavarian flair - it's very much audibly pronounced. You're right about the "ei" being pronounced as "eye" (although one might make a point that one hears "aye" pronounced the scottish way sometimes too!).

Did Rossmeisl invent the R tailpiece? The acoistic guitar someone linked to had a kind of R tailpiece as well!

Danke! That's the way I figured he pronounced it. As to the "R" tailpiece, years ago there was a guy here called Steve Beshears (sp?) who told me he worked for Rickenbacker years ago (he had a lovely '64 365) and said he suggested the design for the tailpiece. I don't know if he was just pulling my leg or this is gospel. Maybe John Hall could weigh in on this?
