You All Are To Blame For This

Post by bbmusic »

Eight months ago I was utterly Rickless. I started visiting this site and soon found myself caught within the icy grip of R.A.S.

And look at me now. My kids couldn't be bothered to get themselves cleaned up for the family photo (just getting around to seeking out some Zymol), but I think you can see that my insatiable hunger has reached critical mass. With a community as knowledgeable, welcoming, and appreciative as this one, how could it be any other way?

(Now let's see...which 6'er should get toasters for Christmas?)

I vote toasters for the 330................ :D

What a lovely family you have there. Oh and I don't blame me. I had nothing to do with your RAS.

Very nice!

But a word of warning, RAS gets worse.

Also, I agree with Brian, give the 330 toasters if your going to toasterize, I love the color on that one!

Nice family!

I know exactly what you mean though, it wasn't too long ago that I only had one. And now...

I think I was leaning toward the 330, too. As for the color, I was starting to come down with Fireglo envy until I happened upon the MB via craig's list, and now I'm all about the golden brownness. I wonder if there's a way to endow her with the faint aroma of cinnamon toast...

well, I'm very new here so I can only accept partial responsibility :P
However, BEAUTIFUL family you have there, and don't worry, R.A.S. is not a condition anyone here will try to deter you from, especially me because I had ONE for a year, which became THREE in a matter of two weeks!!!!
and add my vote to the 330 for the toasters.

I could post similar photos, but they would be missing a few kids...

they got sold when I thought 4 Rics was becoming a sickness...

Oh Lawdy Lawdy how we miss those bygone kids, a 330-12 JG with toasters, a 325v64 too mint to even hand to John Lennon and a 4003 MG.

Still safe and not allowed to watch Pawn Stars at any time: 2-650D, 1 330-6 FG, 1 330-6 MG, and a 660-12 MG.

I'd vote for toasterizing the 330 as well.

However, what I really think you ought to do is buy a pair of toaster covers from RIC, and a handfull of Alnico IIIs from Magnetic Hold, and convert two of the hi gains into overwound toasters for the bridge position pickup on each six string, and use a standard Scatterwound neck toaster in the neck position of each of the six strings. :)

Mike---- that's a fine family portrait there !!
Since you are in the L.A. area, you ought to plan on attending one of our 8) Mini Confluence Rickenbacker Jam sessions and meet your fellow-Forum members and seek solace, sympathy and comfort from the ravages of R.A.S. :D The Mini Cons are usually held in Garden Grove at Backline Rehearsal studios, every couple of months. Check out the Confluences threads ..... also a Mini Con Jam is in the planning stages for SF Bay Area, possibly in July.

You've been given some good advice here already on your Toasterization inquiry ---- so nothing more for me to add.

Is that Montezuma Brown the one that was listed on L.A. Craigs List the last couple of weeks ???? 8) 8) 8)
