Vintage vibe afternoon

Post by ricaddic »

Took a ride to POTR, today and brought home a 1977 4001,it was white originally but the previous owner sanded the finish off it there is still primer in spots on the headstock, it has a hipshot bridge which actually I like very much over the Ric stock bridge, decided im going to put one on my V63 which has a bit of tail lift to it, the 4001 also has a VP pick up in the neck and a v63 type surround for the bridge pick up, the bass though not cosmedically not a gem, makes up for it in playability, she is a real players bas, she plays and feels amazing, so just had to have it, but the iceing on the cake was, Chris also had a Ric TR120B amp in very good condition, which I just couldnt pass up, so all in all had a realy great visit at POTR today, thank you so much, Chris and Shelby, love you guys....

The new one is really cool Ange. I've got to make a trip down to POTR one of these days, you're snatching up all the cool stuff!

I know there's all kinds of wrong with that 4001, but it still looks cool!

Hey Joey my good brother, it had reagular guage string, not ric strings, so I had Chris put a set of curt mangan's on it plus bypass the cap, the toaster on this one really booms, she plays unbeliveably, couldnt resist one I played her, cosmedically there is alot to be desired, but is a real players bass, I could always down the road have her refinished in sea foam green or turquoise, she also has a hipshot bridge which I really love,im gonna put one on my V63, it has a bit of tail lift on her so will put a hipshot on to solve that problem.....
