Back orders on 4001C64 still happening?

Post by fazeka »

Hi,

I put down a deposit on a 4001C64 MG in May 2009 at the Music Zoo and still have not heard a peep regarding my order being filled.

At the time, Joe told me he had an order for this bass since March 2007.

I know Rick is not taking any new orders for this, but is Rick still accommodating production of these 4001C64 back-orders?

When was the last batch of 4001C64 MGs?

Thanks,
Chris

Not sure when the last batch came out, but if there are still orders pending, they're still gonna make 'em.

I'd check with the dealer to make sure your order hasn't "slipped through the cracks". If the bass has been on order since 2007, it probably should have arrived already.
I believe the 4001C64S run is done - I got the impression that the handful of Mid Blue C64S's that showed up last fall were a few un-ordered extras that got a unique finish at the factory.

You can definitely talk with the dealer, and if they don't know anything, try calling RIC to see if they can help. Considering the "batch system" RIC uses to produce models, rarer stuff tends to take longer than commoner stuff because it gets less attention and batches are less frequent. I'm not surprised that a C Series bass could be on order for 3+ years.

My favourite dealer in NJ has outstanding orders placed in Jan. 2009 not yet shipped.

My 381-12 in AFG was ordered in the year, and just shipped this month.
