I almost went to the bank to overdraw money for the new Taurus 3 pedals!
The Taurus 3s look great and I assume they are great but at £2000 thats a bit on the steep side and I want a 4001eight string next.
The original T3 pedals are around £3000 and more if you can find a set in one piece.
I used Roland PK5 midi pedals linked to an EMUSystems Xtreme Lead synth unit.
Its all boxed together like the Taurus so I can adjust things at my feet.
Works fine and I bet the stuff in the Xtreme Lead is just as good as Moog (it has all the Taurus stuff programmed inside) plus it has all the Prophet etc. sounds and loads more.
Cost about £400 all told.
Dont you think the RM sounds better on the No Opportunity clip than it does on recent recordings?
Even though the TV sound is a bit primative I prefer it when Chris uses lots of "filth" in his sound.
And the old stuff is mono I think.

Much prefer the bass sound from back then - proper treble clank.
Would dearly love a set of Taurus 3's but I'm the same - the other half would actually kill me if I was to rock up with a set! That said, if you're doing alright with the PK5 then you're right to hang back for the 8 string.
