I have. I really wanted to like this amp, because my SVT is too heavy for me and I don't feel like I really need all 300 tube watts of it's power.

The Orange weighs less (55-60 lbs?) and is 200 watts. I tried it on two or three occasions and with several different Ricks (and maybe a MM Sterling also). But I was disappointed in the Orange. I found it virtually impossible to get a clean tone out of it. I had to turn the gain all the way down to around 1 to clean it up and then the amp was just too quiet. I like having the option to get fuzzy, but always being fuzzy is not appealing to me.

Maybe the amp I tried was defective. It was at the Crazy Monkey Extravaganza after all (before they decided that they didn't care for my business, obviously).

Not tried them yet but I am intrigued by the design of their new compact bass cabs.
They have "in line" speakers.
I tried one of the old 70s Orange amps way back and they are very good.
Similar to Hiwatt.

If I get a chance I weill check one out and report back.
Oh and their new stuff is available in black apparently.

That's probably why he bought 2 amps. If he was just content with the jazz still he'd probably be running it direct.

Ahhhh...Now I see what you're talking about, Nate.

At first I thought maybe Geddy bought one for you and one for himself!

I've got an Orange practice amp.....cost about £80....and it's not great!

I know that their main 'proper' amps are in a different league, and apparantly superb.

C'mon Geddy, let's see that Ric.......! :D

I bet the Orange stacks are for his 4001 running stereo, and the his Jazz will still be the current setup.

I'm wondering if the Orange Tiny Terror Bass 1000W will have more clean headroom. I want to love them too.

I'm surprised Geddy is even using amps.

Well that does look interesting, Ken! It is indeed tiny at 5 kg. I'd give one a try. The Orange website says that it's 500w though...unless they have a new one coming out.
