Sound clips of the '68
I uploaded some clips from the old beat up 68. The camera couldn't deal with the lows, but at least it's a representation of what these old beasts sound like.

Sounds killer, Scott! Even at your gig a few weekends ago, the combination of that Rick and your Yorkville combo amp sounded amazing.

You're also tempting me to give those Hartke strings a try.

CLANK!
Sounds great Scott. Nice medley of tunes. I love that bass - especially the simpler control layout.

It's the Bassmaster 200. I don't think they make them anymore.rickenbrother wrote:You're also tempting me to give those Hartke strings a try.

The simpler configuration works for me. The extra knobs confuse me.

It is discontinued. Too bad the Traynor/Yorkville amps are not as readily available as many other amps are.s4001 wrote:It's the Bassmaster 200. I don't think they make them anymore.rickenbrother wrote:

Is it VT or VV?s4001 wrote:The extra knobs confuse me.
Re: Sound clips of the '68
VV, the toggle isn't even wired.
Re: Sound clips of the '68
Good idea to not have the tone controls sucking tone from the pickups. Have you ever tried it with the bridge pickup capped? I recently put the cap back in my V63 that also now has a magnetic HS pickup in it; sounds great!

Re: Sound clips of the '68
gotta use a better mic, the neck sure looks thin side to side. Interesting
Re: Sound clips of the '68
Might not be a bad idea. Maybe I could try to figure a way to have the tone cap run thru the toggle.jps wrote:Good idea to not have the tone controls sucking tone from the pickups.
