This is my all-time favorite pic of MCC.... Look at that awesome Blueburst 620/12 with black trim!

Mmmm... BBR...
Re: This gal plays a Rick....
I think of all the "annual" colors that came out, blueburst was the best looking!
Re: This gal plays a Rick....
But MCC looks good with any color Ric (and with the added attraction of being a great writer and performer). "He Thinks He'll Keep Her" is an all-time favorite and her version of "Passionate Kisses" is what caused me to search out Lucinda Williams.

Her songwriting is beyond words......when I found out she played a Rick 12, that iced it for me---I've got all her cds.....good to talk to someone that also appreciates her, and YEAH...she led me to Lucinda, Buddy and Julie Miller, Duke Levine......her greatest work in my HUMBLEharley wrote:But MCC looks good with any color Ric (and with the added attraction of being a great writer and performer). Re: This gal plays a Rick....
Personally, my favorite is "Come On, Come On", probably because it was the first one I really listened to and "Stones In The Road" is a close second but all of them are good and I love her writing style. I still think she does "Passionate Kisses" even better than Lucinda (and I'm a really gig fan of hers, too).vynesmusic wrote: Her songwriting is beyond words......when I found out she played a Rick 12, that iced it for me---I've got all her cds.....good to talk to someone that also appreciates her, and YEAH...she led me to Lucinda, Buddy and Julie Miller, Duke Levine......her greatest work in my HUMBLEopinion is her cd "Here Before Gone".....in that cd, she addresses 9/11/2001 in several songs and melted my heart with "Girls Like Me"......
And even if I didn't like her at all - I would LOVE that picture with the blueburst Ric.

I had the pleasure of seeing Mary-Chapin Carpenter in Belfast during her recent and very successful UK tour. Nice to see her in good health again, playing a very impressive set-list, supported by a great band, which included the sublime John Jennings.
It was ten years since she had last been in Belfast (I was there then too) and it was great to see that she was still using a Rickenbacker (620-6 Fireglo?) for some numbers, just as she had done all those years ago. Whilst she changed guitars (mostly acoustic) for every number, it was obvious that each instrument was treasured and being looked after well.
If you haven't listened to the 'Age of Miracles' album yet, treat yourself for Christmas! As a songwriter and performer, this lady is a class act.
