Dan Lanois

Post by love'em »

HI ALL,Bill Dillon here, just a note about Dan Lanois,, most of the world is aware ,by now, that Dan Lanois has suffered a motorcycle accident in LA on Sat,and was in intensive care,, would like to report that he should be fine !!!
this is good news all around, and we hope the best for him here,, This is of RIC interest,as, I have known Dan since 1967,we are from the same town, and played in our respective local bands when we were teens, and,of course, made a lot of fine albums together,,, last year we both ,somehow, managed to have our early 60s RIC 12 strs "come back to us",serendipity??,, mine a blond 330-12,and Dans,a 450-12 fireglow,as I have continued my affair with RICs thru the years,I was able to orchestrate the restoration of Dans 450, and it is currently waiting for him to be picked up, and the good news, is that he will be around to enjoy it still,, this makes a post on RIC forum valid ,I think, and we should all look forward to what he may come up with when his beloved little 450-12 is in his hands,,, by the way ,,,it plays like butter, and sounds great !!

All guitar work was,and is being done by the famous Mike Spicer, {THE PEGHEAD },,, here in Hamilton,, he's incredible! So if every one could send a silent prayer his way,, recovery could be that much sooner for Dan.

thanks every one for taking the time to read this ,,, Bill

Hi Bill ---- great to hear Dan will be alright. Tell him to keep the rubber side down, and stick to guitars for his own safety! :)

When he's recovered, have him join up here too!

Sorry to hear that he had an accident :( Best wishes for his recovering ! A great musician ! Besides his work as a producer I really love his own stuff.

HI,everyone,,, up-date is this so far,,,, 6 broken ribs,,, one punctured lung,, one smashed pelvis and ,,a broken collar bone,,

no broken legs, arms, hands,or ,,,,FINGERS ,,, face is intact,,, 8-9 more days of intensive care, most likely to keep an eye on the lung puncture.

some lucky guy !!!

Bill,,, love'em

Indeed he is...

There was an article in Today's Hamilton SPECTATOR saying that he is recording with Neil Young at the moment
