Re: Anyone play slanted frets?
I love playing Scott Pope's slanted fret Precision Bass that he designed for himself. Very comfy, and the different string scales give each string a very well balanced tone within the context of the others... I think it'd be cool if there was a "weak slant" on a 4003 so people on the fence could get used to it, like 33'' (G) to 34" (E) rather than 33.25'' across the board. Scott's bass is 32'' (G) to 35'' (E).

I tried out Gary's 481 once or twice at his music studio. Must be psychological, but I just couldn't get comfortable with it. It's probably one of those things that if you use it enough, it feels more natural.
