Maybe if he never met Courtney we wouldn't know who he was? Just another thought! :)
Do you have any evidence to back up a claim of Hole(ever) being bigger than Nirvana? I know I have heard people say that before. In 1989 Nirvana had released Bleach and was touring Europe before Hole had even formed. In 1990 Nirvana were already recording with Butch Vig for their follow up for Sub Pop. The only thing Hole released in 1990 was the Retard Girl single.

Kurt and Courtney didn't start dating/sleeping together until early November 1991. Hole released Pretty On The Inside on September 31, on Caroline Records. Nirvana released Nevermind on September 24 on Geffen. So by the time they started dating, Kurt had an album on the Billboard Top 40 and a hit single. Courtney was dating Billy Corgan at the time and dumped him to pursue Kurt. So to say that Kurt pursued Courtney because her band was bigger than his, is just ludicrous. If anything is true, it's the opposite.

I recognize that there is a debate, but I would put my money on Kat. Courtney is a liar, plain and simple. Just this past week on the View, she said that Babes In Toyland was one of the names she considered before she settled on Hole. BIT formed two years before Hole, so that's just a lie. Why lie about it? Who knows, it's just what she does. Kat was wearing the "kinderwhore" look on stage(with a Rickenbacker), playing songs she wrote herself, while Courtney was still stripping in Japan.

I mean, Courtney also "argued vehemently" that she wrote Old Age, before Kurt's demo surfaced... and that she wrote all of the lyrics to Pennyroyal Tea, before it's demo surfaced(it was recorded before they even met). She has a habit of trying to take credit for things she didn't do, and that's putting it mildly.
Great Ramp In My Opinion.

I can't say that I've ever heard a lot by Hole, but I do recall liking Doll Parts. So I'm not a big Courtney fan but I'm always in favor of the big "clean up" if it increases the chance of someone surviving long enough to create something interesting (to them or me but, hopefully to both of us).

Didn't she used to play a Squier or Fender called a Venus model?

She designed the Venus, after the popularity of her husband's Jag-Stang model took off.

They were fairly good quality guitars, from the Fender Japan Vista line, though I hate their design (mostly just the pickguard), which is said to be influenced by Rickenbackers, 'supposedly'

There was a 2 hour Behind the Music on Courtney Love that I just watched. There was a more recent performance where she was playing a 360. I couldn't tell if it was a 6 or a 12 but they showed the video from the side and her strumming was all downstrokes. That seems like a strange way to play if it is your primary strum. It's funny what you pick up on, sometimes.

In some of the early footage or photos of her, she's playing a 400 series Ric solidbody. I've always been a fan of those.

Hole bigger than Nirvana?

Hole has a few songs that aren't completely unlistenable ( just a few) and it is fairly obvious that they were penned by Cobain.
