My GK rig allows me to run my 2x12s indepently from the tweeter using a speakon cable. A separate amplifier is on-board to run to the tweeter which has its own volume knob and hi-cut switch. This way I can crank the boost to get growl from the woofers and run the tweeter crystal clear with no distortion.
Personally, I love this set-up. I usually run the tweeter at about 40% with no hi-cut.

Can we have everything louder than everything else?

I wish GK would make version of the 1001RB without all the extra stuff need for their biamp system, one without the 50 watt amp, X-over, woofer and tweeter controls, etc. which probably accounts for at least 25% of the cost of the amp, an amp more like a 400RB-II with the power of the main amp on the 1001RB.
I loved the two 700RB amps I used to own but felt I paid for unnecessary, to me, features. That is partly why I now use Markbass and Walter Woods amps, simple and just the right stuff.
