Raspberries
I remember reading at one time that Wally Bryson of the Raspberries played a Ric 12 string, presumably a 360, on several of their songs and that it was featured prominently on some of them. I've always been a big fan of that band and thought they didn't get near the recognition now that they deserved.
If nothing else, they had one of the best lines in 70s pop,
"If you believe that what we're doing is right, close your eyes and be still."

"I Want To Be With You" is a personal favorite. Covered it many times
"Go All The Way" is a great song, so many great memories tied to those.... Eric Carmen is a wonderful singer.

Hmm, never heard of the Raspberries (unknown in the UK perhaps) but I'll see what I can find.

"Go All the Way" is one of those songs whose lyrics I misheard for quite a long time. I thought it was "Don't Go Away."

I get the feeling that Johnny Thunders was somewhat a fan of Eric's.billydlight wrote:he looks remarkably like Joan Jett (who eventually got that guitar)
I wonder if he had height issue? Does it seem unusual to anyone that he stays on that box when meeting the guests?

Don't forget something like..."Starry Eyes" by The Records, or some Bram Tchaikovsky.

The original four guys in 2005. No Ric here, but we think Wally Bryson played one elsewhere in this concert. There may be other videos somebody can share...

Interesting, if Wikipedia can be believed, it was Carmen who actually played bass on the "Go All The Way," as he didn't switch with Smalley until after that song became big. Carmen apparently played bass from 1971 to 1972. Now I wonder who owned the Ric bass played by Dave Smalley?
Carmen had started out playing rhythm guitar, but went to bass when John Aleksic left near the end of 1970.
As an aside, I remember seeing Tom Petty's bass player (Ron Blair) only play a Ric bass twice (jetglo). Once in the old Stevie Nicks/Petty video for "Stop Draggin' my Heart Around," and once on the Jay Leno show 3 or 4 years ago. Speculation was that it was actually Petty's bass, and it likely was.
