NYC Guitar techs

Post by Halbert »

Who do the New Yorkers here trust to work on their Rics? I only need a pro setup job but I am loath to take it to someplace like GC :| I feel that the guys on 49th would try to hurry though it. I have a decent tech uptown, but I'm in Brooklyn and anything north or 59th Street is really out of my way. What say you?

Anyone heard of "Amp & Guitar Wellness Center" in Brooklyn?

I probably would have been better off using your guy, but Staten Island? Thats like going to New Jersey
Just kidding, John. Seriously I'm a sucker for convenience ( read: lazy) and to be honest I should have just taken the trip uptown to see Evan Gluck like I usually do. It would have saved me $$ and time
So instead, being the slug I am, took it to Rudy's. I am sure they will do a good job of it, it's near my job. But it will take a while. The more I think about it, the more I am considering picking it up again and hauling it up to Evan's.

I brought two of my Ricks to:

MAS HINO
116 East 7th Street
New York, NY
(inside of Guitarman)
[email protected]

He is a real luthier making guitars for many people. He did a great set up on my 4001 & 480. He even fixed the truss rod on the 4001 and didn't charge me an arm and a leg. I bring all my guitars to him now. He's also a genuinely friendly person.

I decided to stop being a baby and go ahead and bring it to my regular guy. After all he has always done a great job and doesn't seem to charge too much.
But your guy looks very convenient (although far from the train.)
