330/12 Production Date

Post by Folkie »

I purchased my Ruby 330/12 used and in mint condition from a respected store here in Cleveland about thirteen years ago. I'm embarrassed to say that I have no idea what year the guitar was made. Is there any easy way to tell from looking at the serial number? Where would I find that information?

Robert there are several ways to do this. My preference, naturally, would be to have you register it with the Rickenbacker Register at this site. Once you enter the serial the date of manufacture will show up if the instrument is after November 1960. You can also add photos, which we will like.

Alternatively you can visit the official Rickenbacker.com site and enter the information into their serial decoder. I see that Kevin has kindly posted the link for you below. He beat me to the punch. :)

By all means do tell us what you know about this instrument and how it plays and sounds. We don't have any 330/12 Rickenbackers with a Ruby finish in the Register so I am most interested in having one there.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
