Running my mouth again

Post by jdogric12 »

Hey gang. A coworker asked me to identify this guitar:
identifyAFrick.JPG
This email conversation followed:

Jason: ’64-’68 370 OS FG

Jason: or did you mean the chord? G maj 7

Coworker: Oh I didn’t notice the 3 pickups. I thought it was maybe a Harrison reissue

Jason: Nope, reissues have more modern tuners. And so called “Harrison” reissues (v64, c63) would not have a third pickup, to be faithful to George’s. The c63 even has the same spray pattern of fireglo.

Coworker: What’s the OS?

Jason: old style. in 65 they very quickly changed the 360/370 shape to the current rounded front body. They still made “old style” (OS) ones through most of the 60’s for people who wanted to look like Harrison. They are much more rare than the NS ones. Once you get into the 80’s you have stuff like the short lived B series, the WB’s (“With Binding” which have all-modern appointments like non-full-width inlays, silver top knobs, and Schaller sealed tuners), the V series (meant to be reissues and much more accurate than B’s and WB’s), and this last decade the C series (named ** **** **** for * ***** **** **** ****** **** ***********, which is **** ** ****** of all the ********** *** **** if the ******* ******* *** ******** **** with ******** ****** ******* of ********)

(portions of reply edited for RRF posting)

So, fact checkers, how'd I do??? or am I just running my mouth again???

Dawg, *******and*************, but your ************* *********** seems to be right on the mark, unless your ********************** ****** has gone and ******-up again.

A true "Harrision" reissue would have 12 strings.

I don't think George ever played a 360V64.

Good call- that looks almost exactly like my '68 375 OS. Sweet guitar!

Meanwhile, I'm stumpted as to which one- and two-letter words would get censored out.
