Short scale and see through

I was doing a short scale search for basses (hoping to run across a 3000) and got a hit on updated Dan Armstrong Lucite basses from Ampeg. I don't know much about these and there don't seem to be any in the Denver area that I can just go try out so I thought I'd ask if any of the forumites here knew anything about them. My preference is still to find a 3000 eventually but these may be a short term short-scale possibility.
