Kenny Howes moves to Dallas!

Post by kennyhowes »

So, um…guess what?

I’m moving to Dallas, Texas!

You see, my honeychile Debonee got a promotion at her day job, which includes relocation to The Lone Star State, and so, off we go!

Dallas, Texas! (It’s almost like one long word, isn’t it? Dallastexas!) The ninth largest city in the USA; no state income tax, and less traffic than SoCal, although every road is a toll road, it seems. Three hours drive from Austin (yay!), and a 3-4 hour flight to pretty much anywhere in the Lower 48. We’ve found a cool ‘30s bungalow on the border of the Bluffview and Greenway Park neighborhoods, five minutes from Love Field, and fifteen minutes from Dealey Plaza.

Unfortunately, the move also calls for my resignation as Sales Director at Rickenbacker.

I started at RIC in 2003, during a very directionless period of my life, and the experience has given me countless opportunities beyond my expectations. I remain proud to play and promote the coolest guitars and basses ever made, and I am equally proud to remain good friends with the company owner John Hall, and his family. We’ve been through a lot!

Obviously, it is equally frightening and exciting to begin a blank-canvas, freelance period, which is what I will do for now. I look forward to both seeing what musical opportunities Texas has to offer, and also to be able to travel more often (maybe to where YOU live!) to play some live music.

My last work day will be Friday, July 30th, and we’ll be leaving a couple of days after that.

So there you have it. :)

Wow! I am floored. Good luck Kenny. I enjoyed talking to you at RIC, I am sure John and Ben are going to miss your huge contribution to the company not to mention your major contribution to the great music of Hautewerk.

All the best and I hope you are able to stay in touch,

Brian

Do you know what this means, Kenny? It'll be easier for me to meet you. Congrats on the move. Glad JH still wants to be friends, too.

Sorry to see 'ya leave RIC, Kenny, but you're certainly welcomed here in Texas.

Ditto here Kenny; it's been especially cool to have you as a neighbor for the past year or so. We'll miss you at the bi-monthly jams as well, but we'll see you here meanwhile. :)

April Fool's in July?! :?

The very best of luck to you Kenny and Deb!! We'll miss you guys in SoCal. Maybe we can have some kind of send-off get together/jam or something before you guys go, if possible.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)
