And as for my RIC Outlet 4003 being Jetglo... well... I'm quite happy that the pickguard is Jetglo...

Doesn't Tony look good in the Jetglo hat?!
Absolutely! Wouldn't work for me though, 'cause, as everyone knows, here in Montana, only the Bad Guys wear Jetglo hats...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I don't know if this counts as "custom", but it's been modified to my liking: vintage trc, nut, neck pickup, volume/tone knobs and strap bolts.

Nice 8) , but you are missing a vintage style pickguard, and if you're up to it, the 1/2" position for the toaster.

Rumor has it, it will be delivered Tuesday. I'm running out of McCartney projects, Jeff. Paul stil has a couple of basses but no McCartney work.

Unless McCartney had a Mapleglo 4003S refinished in a clear blue along the way, I think that you're set for now Brian.

I'm not a huge fan of MapleGlo but the grain and colour of that is stunning!

Ron, isn't that sad. I guess I could do that funky Les Paul that he has, but not really sure I like it.

James, The finish was ambered to give it an aged look. It arrived today and the finish looks much better in person.

That's beautiful, Brian. So, did PW do a yellowed varnish re-fin on it?

BTW...I don't think Macca's Rick ever had the "Made in the USA" sticker on the pick guard!

In keeping with the already-modded nature of the bass and the fact that there is a (filled, with wood filler) P Bass rout in between the two pickups I decided to have Tony Dudzik help me out with this project:

Image

Eventually it will either sport three Toasters (currently own two), or possibly something else. I would really like humcanceling or RWRP, but I don't want HB-1s in this guy. Maybe Bartolini pickups for Ric basses as I have liked the way those sounded in the past. I don't have the same confidence in the Seymour Duncan stuff.

I should also mention the neck pickup is 1/2'' spacing now. I plan on using the iiipopes VT mod for three pickups to get better use of the neck and mid pickups.

Do you have a newer higain that could be unwound and magnets put into?
