Frugal solution
Frugal solution
A frugal and reversable straplock solution.Didn't have to modify vintage instrument. It's just a plastic clip hrom a bread bag.

That's cool, but you know what else works is the rubber washer off of the Grolsch bottle.
All I wanna do is rock!
Re: Frugal solution
Kira, how did you figure that one out.... sharing a beer with the guitar???
Re: Frugal solution
Probably read the thread at BGC.ram wrote:Kira, how did you figure that one out.... sharing a beer with the guitar???
But that takes tools and costs the purchase of the washers.Bag clips are free.
Re: Frugal solution
Nah, it's just a very well-known method (though I've seen the bag thing before too)fatcat wrote:Probably read the thread at BGC.ram wrote:Kira, how did you figure that one out.... sharing a beer with the guitar???

besides, you don't get the fun of drinking the beers!

Yep, I've heard of the ol' rubber washer off of the Grolsch bottle trick many years ago, way before the internet existed!collin wrote:Nah, it's just a very well-known method (though I've seen the bag thing before too)fatcat wrote:Probably read the thread at BGC.ram wrote:Kira, how did you figure that one out.... sharing a beer with the guitar???

JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: Frugal solution
Didn't think that Grolsch was available here in the Sheeples Republik, but the INTERNET! helped me find it listed in the state owned store system--not available on the free market.I'll have to get some next month.
Re: Frugal solution
Be really careful with the bread clip solution, as it gives you a false sense of security. I tried those with a Mosrite I had as a teenager, and had a few failures. I wasn't throwing the guitar around either, was just rocking out.
Re: Frugal solution
I do recall that alcohol was involved, yes ...ram wrote:Kira, how did you figure that one out.... sharing a beer with the guitar???
Nah, truthfully I learned that one way before computer forums, in the days whose memories would become, well, a bit blurry for some of us.

Uh, yeah. I was using it before he'd even heard of a computer!

Re: Frugal solution
I would be careful with the bread bag trick - I bet it would lend more false security than actual security, but the Grolsh stopper washer sounds intriguing!
