Some Anniversary's to Remember

Post by lucky »

We may forget our wedding anniversary sometimes, but the one I never forget is when I got my Ric 4003. Saturday 14th August 1998 was when my Girlfriend bought me my Oct '92 Fireglo 4003 for £650,12 years on & the bass is still as great as ever and still a joy to own & play.

Shawn congratulations on both accounts! You have got to keep around the woman who gives you basses and kids! That is a 'keeper' :)

August 17 will be 19 years for Carla and myself. Truthfully, I don't know how she has managed to put up with me this long. Mark

Joey, that is Schweeeet! A dream machine! Yeah it never ceases to amaze me that my wife puts up with me - but I'm glad she does! I haven't been to a gathering yet; but with all of the kudos the spousal units get on the forum, I'd say we are a fortunate bunch. And it seems that 50th birthdays are rather special sometimes!

Congrats on both!
I am just about at the one-month anniversary of getting my 4003 (ha ha).
But, I too got mine because my wife is so sweet. While we have only been married for 2.5 years, we met 33 years ago.
Short version of the story: we met the first class of the first day of class at college. The beauty sat down right next to me. I fell in love with her later that day when she showed up at my dorm room. But, since she had a boyfriend back home we were just music pals and study-buddies for our college career. She got married about 3 years after college. I lost track of her a few years after that but she was always the one woman that I knew was The One (I tried others and they all crashed and burned!) Somehow, 4 years ago she tracked me down after her marriage ended. Despite being 1500 miles away, we slowly realized it was our time. On the exact 30th anniversary of meeting her, I surprised her and proposed in that same dorm room! THAT permission from the school was a major achievement to obtain because schools and dorms are a wee bit different from those times back in the 70's! Oh yeah, she said "yes!"

So here is to Rickenbackers and soul mates! They both can take a long time to find. Hold on to the right one, ok?
