That makes sense. After all the point of the poster is to promote the movie, so other text (as on the TRC), may have been seen as distracting.

I'm not sure if he's a fan or not but in the graphic novels, the bass is prominent throughout.

Kind of like FLCL... and if you don't know FLCL here's a pic so you can see how prominent the bass is there, too.

Just got back from the movie. The bass is even in a "bass off" where it gets blown to pieces by a Fender Mustang bass. It shows up again later duct taped back together. The end of the movie also features a jetglo 4003.

Saw it Friday. Interesting an good movie although I'm still not sure what it's about. In some ways a remake of Better Off Dead. The 4003 gets quite a bit of screen time.

The 4003 gets blown to pieces by a Mustang Bass? Now knowing that, I'll wait until it's released on DVD. It wasn't the Danny Partridge signature model Mustang, was it?
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

In a promotion for the film they've relased a Rickenbacker bass model sans-headstock logo on the Xbox Live marketplace for peoples' characters. I guess they can buy items and customize their online profile with it, or something. There was a picture but I forget where I read it.

After reading this, I went and bought mine. I've been wanting a Ric bass for my profile and would prefer that in Rock Band but I'm glad I have it on my avatar.

Thanks.

The one downside is that your character plays it like he's strumming a guitar with heavy up and down strokes.

Meow.

Actually, I've got to ask my friends if I can get a one sheet - unfortunately I didn't do the posters for this one.

At least there's nothing anachronistic about having that bass in the movie. Often Hollywood doesn't care, or even know about such things. Anybody remember The Buddy Holly Story (with Gary Busey), where he's playing a '70's guitar in a scene that takes place in the early 1950's? And where did Buddy get that DeLorean??

Now to be found in a REAL working band - Not sure if he's playing a Rickenbacker of even if he owns one?

I saw this movie the other night and really enjoyed it. Cool use of a Rickenbacker bass in the movie as well.
