Ronn: I am interested in your comments about the tonality of the EB-0 compared to the Rickenbacker 4001?
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Peter, a good EB-0 song is "All right Now" Free, (which is not the usual sound for them) actually it could have been an EB-3 too. An EB-3 is an EB-0 with a bridge PU. They are very bottomy, big boom. Felix Pappalardi of Mountain played an EB-1 which sounds very simliar to an EB-0 they were the first violin shaped bass made. They have a nice dirty sound when played through a low wattage Fender amp.

Short-scale of course, pretty flat radius fingerboard, tuners work fine(not cheesy), low action straight neck. Neck pickup only-sounds kinda P-bass, Both-very good sound, what I usually use, Bridge only-very twangy.
It feels real solid for a semi-hollow. Sorry no case, I got it w/o a case but have cases for my other 2 JJs so it was never a problem. John Files owns the Bass Emporium where I have it on consignment, he's a bass player from way back, and a good friend, he ships basses every day and I'm sure he'd pack it well if you ended up getting it. Bought it used and from my knowledge of JJ basses I figure it's about 6-7 years old.
