Beach Boys

I just saw some live footage yesterday of The Beach Boys and one of the guitarists (could it have been Brian Wilson?) was playing a Rickenbacker 360/12 that looked just like George Harrison's. Does anyone out there know when The Beach Boys purchased and started using a 360/12?

That would have been Carl, not Brian. I do have a photo of Brian holding a Gretsch somewhere, but he's bass and keyboards almost exclusively.

Just yesterday I got to inform someone that there is a Carl Wilson signature Rickenbacker... ohhh you should have seen his face light up.. until I had to break the news that it might be easier to get a human kidney than a CW sig

CWs were made in both six and twelve string versions. They are desirable as players and collectors items, but can be found at good prices on eBay. Prices are even down from the 2007 "bubble" high, and are under $3K for the twelves, and often lower for the sixes.

Great feel and vintage sound, especially with the special T-I flatwound nickel custom set sold by Chris Clayton at Pick O' the Ricks...acoustically they jangle, too.

I'll pass that on to him. I'd just noticed that I hardly see any, but hopefully He'll be able to find one. He's a guitar instructor here in Port Angeles and has been feeling that ever so familiar "y'know, my life would be much better with a Rickenbacker in it" feeling. I'll tell him to watch th'bay or let him know if one comes up here on the board

I just saw the BB Tribute Band "Surfin' Safari" last night, and "Carl" had a nice FG 360/12 with a "George-style" tailpiece. I was pleasantly surprized by the group.

This guitar was on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when I was there a few years ago.
