I almost had the desire to buy. I really think if I decide to get new, it will be FG though. Four MGs as it is; need color.

Have to say I'm really liking the newer 4003s. It's a shame they haven't used crushed pearl for the inlays (a personal fave) but beyond that, they really have got something. That neck looks like it's a nice slim size too. When did the 2-piece necks come in? I mentioned this in another thread, but would a 2008 neck be as slim as the 2 piece?

Total bass porn! Man, I would trade my JG 4003 for a MG in a heartbeat.

If memory serves me right there was a period in 2008 when necks where as slim as the 2010 necks.

The May 2008 4003 I used to own has a neck that is virtually like the nice thin necks on my current, and former, respectively, March and July 1973 4001s.

I've seen a nice Mglo 4003 from week 16 of 2008 advertised (as advised by Ric.com) and the owner won't give me any measurements (too busy). I wonder how thin that would be?

I will never buy a new Rick without trying anymore. I bought and sold both of my new-bought Rick's because I did not like the necks. Keep in mind that thin does not mean small/narrow.

That's part of the problem. There are hardly ever any Rics that I fancy in this neck of the woods, and as I don't drive it makes trying out any at distance (other than on a direct train route) difficult. My issue is more avoiding necks like my '98 V63 though, which was really big all round.
