My 4004s

Post by jack1953 »

Gave up the 4003. I'm a whole lot more comfortable playing these 2, weight wise and playability.

Pretty, I'd like to own one that looks like one of those. The ones I have played all sounded good but they were all Ciis... can you do clips comparing the Cii and the L?

I've never done that before cassius. If someone could tell me how, I'd certainly give it a go! :D

First step is to get some recording software. If you have a Mac, you might have GarageBand on it.

My son has a Mac and has Garage Band. Is it pretty self explanatory?

Yes it is.

Depending on the computer's sound card, you may or may not need to invest $30 into a Griffin iMic 2 (which I highly recommend), setting it at "mic level". It plugs into the USB. Tell GarageBand to use it as your input device (if you aren't using the sound card). Then press "Record" and experiment... The most important thing to do before you really get serious is "gain stage" so that the instrument isn't overdriving its track and the master is outputting at a reasonable level. You can figure this all out by watching the dB meters.

GarageBand is relatively simple, yet it can be very powerful and effective. It's basically a lighter-weight version of Logic. I believe Nine Inch Nails did a couple of their albums on GarageBand, for example, then released the single tracks as GarageBand format files for people to remix.

Those are very nice. I love my 4004CI. I don't know why I never purchased a CII, but youhave me thinking.
