Oven knobs appear to be an acquired taste. I haven't acquired it yet!Zentner wrote:I'm surprised you guys aren't diggin on the oven knobs! The knobs complete it for me mainly because I also have 2 rics with the standard vintage style knobs.

I love the style of the oven knobs, but they look about 20-25% too big to me. Just a question of aesthetic balance. I love the rest of the look.
Can we have everything louder than everything else?

Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .

I never expected to find a Lefty gold TRC ever... so when I did... I immediately jumped on it. (thanks to this forum!!)

For me, the gold guard really makes that very impressive FG look even more outstanding.

Gold on Fireglo has THAT look

Yea.... I can't think of a hotter bass than a '59 Ric 4000 - honestly in fireglo OR mapleglo. I'd take whichever I could get my hands on.

Here are links to my 4003 AFG and 4003 Montezuma Brown. Both with gold guards and TRC.

Agreed. However, that shade of FG is without doubt one of the best in recent years...ilan wrote:Gold on Fireglo has THAT look

Me too. Oven knobs... not for me. Very nice.wints wrote:For me, the gold guard really makes that very impressive FG look even more outstanding.

Gold guard and TRC also look great on Blueboy. Kinda like the original powder blue Rics given to Jim Reeves and The Blue Boys in 1961.

Ilan, is that the one that was on eBay recently? Did you buy it? Or were you selling it?
