The Electro was actually made by Rickenbacker. It's basically a Model 425 with a glued-in neck rather than neck-through construction. I think it was called a Model 17. When Rickenbacker started in 1931, they were called "Ro-Pat-In Corp."--and fairly quickly changed it to "Electro String". Electro-branded instruments are pretty rare--yours dates from the 1960's, which puts it among the last of the Electro-branded Rickys. Don't do anything to it--it's an actual Rickenbacker, and a rare one to boot!

But wait does this one count as a Rickenbacker? Or "Licensed By Rickenbacker" or what...? Anyway I am pretty Jazzed about it.What an cool little guitar I have been waiting to find one for a long time.Should I paint it black or maybe make it into a 450? Well,I probably will just leave it as is because it looks pretty sweet to me.Thanks John!

And then the next day I see...this 1968 Rickenbacker 365 with accent trem,21 fret neck, toasters, checkered binding and crushed pearl inlays all packed up in an original Silver Rickenbacker case. OMG! It's funny because The last time I bought a guitar from Mitch he sent me a copy his Dynamico CD and I think he played this guitar on some of the tracks. Anyway, thanks Mitch! I will put the guitar in my "Let's Active" shrine.

VERY cool, and a goos score to boot! 8) It's also interesting to know that Rickenbacker also had alternate brandname guitars ala Gibson and Fender.

Do you remember this song?

This vid is from the REM 30th Anniversary Celebration in Athens Georgia.
Mitch said that was the last time he played this 365.I wonder if that blue 330 is the one in the Let's Active vid.

I have to admit, I'm jealous. I've been after a 425/electro for some time.

I bought this amp because a "brownface" Fender was on my 'bucket list".I really like the "harmonic-vibrato". How do you think it will sound with the vintage toasters?

Sounds like this '62 Concert
