Richard Roosa (congerz83) w/apologies.

Post by congerz83 »

Friends, Brothers, and Sisters

It appears I have offended many of you with over the top posts I have made lately. My sense of humor can be very dry, angry, confrontational, self-depricating and, I guess now..... offensive. I am spreking to you as "Richard" the guy who at time plays "Rick". "Rick" is the carefree, always trying to be funny person I now play 90% of the time. Recently I've had MANY emotional/personal setbacks that I think have caused this character to come out. I don't mean "Rick" to be offensive. Actually "Rick" is a defense-mechanism that helps me at times not to think about all the hurt i've had come my way in the last nearly year and a half. "Rick" is a CRUTCH. I've upset MANY people on this board lately. I owe all of you an apology, from someone I consider a friend (he knows who he is) to admins, to the Rickenbacker BRASS. I mean this apology from the bottom of my heart. This will not be a funny post. There will be no "smilies". We are a very select (i'd like to consider ELITE) group of men and women who share a common love for THE BEST GUITARS ON THE PLANET! We may not always agree, but we should all be friendly and respectful of one another and to the rules of this great forum. Everyone has been very helpful to me on this board in the past and I would like it to continue. You all have unique opinions on music and these instruments. It makes for great conversation. I will be following much stricter guidlines on how I behave and treat others on this board. AGAIN I DEEPLY APOLOGIZE TO ONE AND ALL! If anyone ever makes it to the tri-state area, PM me, i'll give you the address, and you can all line up to puch me in the face. lol? Or, hit me over the head with any Rickenbacker product you wish. I have a very hard head. lol? God Bless, be well, and ROCK ON!

As I read this, it sounds very stupid. Why would anyone want to waste a work of art (Rickenbacker) on my head?!?... BETTER MAKE IT A FENDER!
ok I lied, I will make an attempt at humor.............. I can hear the boooooos and crickets (not Buddy Holly's band) already

I haven't read anything that I considered offensive or insulting. Maybe I missed it. I'm pretty hard to offend though.

And I tend to lob an occasional bomb just for fun too. It's all good. It's difficult to do it though when typing on a forum as opposed to in-person. When I tease someone about a horseshoe pickup in person they can see my smirk and know its all in good fun. When I tease someone about a horseshoe pickup on the forum some people get offended, defensive, feelings get hurt, etc.

I think the best thing to do is to just fight it out at the next confluence.

I read this on the net the other day, and it really struck home with me. Maybe it applies, maybe not.......................

Jeff, I'm with you on this one. I, for one, am much better with English than I am with a keyboard. I can usualy manage to type myself into some real good spots. Richard, you hit the nail on the head when you said to keep it Rickenbacker. I think that was great advice. Stay tuff Bro, and stay with us. Mark

I want to thank all of you for the kind words and support. I was away from this board for a while. I didn't have much time, and my Delorean was taking up alot of my time. This still is the best board on the net! I am proud to be back and contribute to all of our "family".

I CAN BE FOUND ON FACEBOOK. I'D LIKE TO BEFRIEND EVERYONE ELSE FROM THIS BOARD W/FACEBOOK. SEND ME REQUESTS.
