Rickenbacker bass necks

Hi,

First post . I've had a 4003 from 2008, the neck was very thick. Last week I ordered a 4003 from 2010, so i'm very curious about the neck thickness, I'm looking for a more thin neck than the 2008 4003. I'll let you know what the difference is when I receive the bass.

When in 2008 was your 4003 made? The one I had was made end of April/beginning of May and it's neck was thin like that on my 'March 73 4001.

My 74 has a thicker than usual neck as well. However it's really stable and plays very slick!

Funny...my 74 was SUPER thin and most of what I've heard, the majority of 74's did as well.

Thick, thin, what way ? I have a 2008 4003 the neck is WIDE (1.75") at the nut but thin front to back.

I received my new 4003 (july 2010). The neck is smaller than my former 4003 (febr. 2008). Mission accomplished .
