RICKENBACKER TR120B

ANYONE KNOW MUCH ABOUT THIS BASS COMBO AMP.. YEARS PRODUCED? ANYONE HAVE ONE AND YOUR COMMENTS? I THINK THEY ARE RATED AT 50WATTS. SIMILAR TO THE TR35B I THINK. ANY IDEAS? THEY DIDN'T MAKE ALOT OF AMPS THAT IS FOR SURE....

L: I think you will find that the TR120B is rated at 120 Watts RMS. the estimated output rating of these amplifiers was on the conservative side.

I think Tracy Sands should step in here. He is very familiar with this model amp and most if not the entire line of Rickenbacker amps. He's the man,..period.

Well, I do own two of them, and I dare not say much good about them lest they become 'collectible' and thereby unattainable for us average folk. 120 watts RMS, active feedback so there's a generous amount of headroom, compact, versatile, loud. Not my favorite bass amp; it's my 2nd favorite, losing by a comfortable margin to the Rickenbacker B115 which totally buries a Music Man HD130 (also a great bass amp!).

The first two TR120B amps were hand
built by George Cole and myself in
July or August, 1981 for what it's worth.
Production started about November 1981.
I don't know when the production run
ended however...I left before that.

I currently have the first prototype TR100G
Head and the matching S B/G 115PH Alnico
speaker cabinet from the late 70's.
(alas, the 6-piezo horns were never
put in the production model unfortunately,
but does that combination sound fabulous for
12 strings or bass !!! )

Does anyone have any information such as a instruction manual and a service manual for the TR35B? I just bought the amp and would like some feedback.
