Maybe I am crazy but why do the Japanese markets get these things and we can't get them here? (except of course importing them back)...seems to be a trend for a number of years...just wondering...

The vintage/collectors market in Japan is extremely strong also in budget!

This is exactly correct. I believe the C Series instrumetns went to Japan first, IIRC.

I wouldn't be surprised if we were meant to get the 1999 in the US market -- but then too many people on this forum whined about how they'd rather see something completely new out of RIC -- which resulted in us getting nothing.

Care to expand on that, Bert? It looks like a link to a similar thread.... can you be more specific?

I read "- Only 60 of each model will be produced, in commemoration of Shinsedo's 60th anniversary." in one of the postings which the second message links to. Seems like a good enough reason to me why the Japanese (only) get these instruments.

In that case, on October 19th it will be Kevin and Yvonne's 14th anniversary. Therefore I would like a special run of commemorative RM1999's built! I'll even buy one!

(I hope that works!)

Might work if you take 60 for a Japanese price. ;-)

It would be wrong to sell 1999's in the US since they're export models. That why you guys don't get them.
You got the shadows and all the other fun stuff on the other hand.
And in Europe we get nothing
