Godin and Flamenco

Ruben: I wonder what your thoughts are when it comes to more modern instruments that use electronic technology. Who would have thought that a heavy metal guitarist would turn to flamenco. If this subject is not appropriate for your forum please let me know and I will move it to another section.

Thanks for the link, Peter.... and a very good question. I think the Godin 'electrified' acoustics are great guitars.

I recall when I was in Cleveland in 2006 with Jeff and Shari Scott we went to a restaurant where an African band was playing. Apart from the wonderful vibe those ladies and gents put out I was extremely impressed with the sound of the nylon string acoustic/electric string Godin that the lead guy was playing.

If the chap in the video clip is anything to go by I would have to say that there is definitely a place for those sort of guitars in traditional flamenco music performances.

Of course ability and pencil-like 7" fingers helps!!

A friend of mine has both the steel string and the nylon string Godins and uses both with his synths, too.

Hmm..... think it was a steel string that night, Jeff, but I have heard both. 13 pin midi straight out to a synth would be the way to go!

Possibly, steel, I don't recall. It is hard to tell from your photo as the only significant difference between the two guitars is the bridge.
